About Study Course

Objective

To demonstrate the importance and productivity of modern homoeopathic research and highlight the scientific areas where homoeopathic research is currently being carried out.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.• of how to integrate the information learned in Materia Medica I and Materia Medica II study courses into a scientific research context: • of research methods and application thereof in homoeopathy; • of research methodology – quantitative, qualitative, randomised clinical trials, meta-analysis; • of the limitations of research methods in medicine; • of modern scientific evidence, homoeopathic concepts and the law of similars; • of the Arndt-Schulz law, biphasic activity, dose-dependent reverse effect, importance of hormesis, clinical trial results and evidence; • of branches of science – nanoscience, particle physics and genetics, enabling an understanding of the biophysical basis of homoeopathy; • of repeated and new drug trials, importance of randomised clinical trials for critical evaluation of revalidation of Materia Medica; • of the role of research in validating and improving Materia Medica data; • of the methodology of the Materia Medica revision project.

Skills

1.• to find and critically evaluate existing literature on research in homoeopathic medicine; • to understand information about advances in modern scientific disciplines such as nanoscience, particle physics and genetics; • to understand information on the latest modern examination, diagnostic and treatment strategies in medicine and other branches of medical science; • to apply research ethics in health research; • communication skills to explain research results; • demonstrates self-motivation, self-confidence and initiative.

Competences

1.• ability to apply research methodology in homoeopathic therapeutic work; • ability to apply the knowledge acquired in the Materia Medica I and Materia Medica II study courses in the context of scientific research: • ability to assess the relevance of replicated and new formulation trials and randomised clinical trials for critical revalidation assessment of Materia Medica; • ability to explain the role of research in validating and improving Materia Medica data; • to participate in the revision of the modern Materia Medica scientific project; • ability to carry out trials of homoeopathic preparations; • to work in multidisciplinary teams; • to collaborate with scientists and experts working in the field of life sciences; • to contact experts who do not represent medical disciplines.
