Knowledge
1.Upon completion of the course, the doctoral student will have acquired knowledge of research work and its types, will have extended knowledge of the chosen topic for the doctoral thesis, as well as will have gained research experience.
Skills
1.Ability to carry out scientific work; ability to draw up the research results; scientific discussion on issues related to management science; ability to structure information to be presented.
Competences
1.Research competence in business management, including subject competence, organisational methodological competence, analytical and evaluation competence.

|
While taking the course the doctoral student shall be involved in organisation of scientific seminars and conferences or participate in them, in preparation and publication of scientific articles on the issues studied in the doctoral thesis and in implementation of Latvian and international research projects.
The student's contribution to the improvement of the study process is the provision of meaningful feedback on the study course by filling out its evaluation questionnaire.

At the end of the academic year the Head of the doctoral study programme evaluates the results of the doctoral student’s work on the basis of the annual report on the work accomplished submitted by the student.
