About Study Course

Objective

To ensure acquisition and improvement of theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the diagnosis and treatment of neurological diseases and syndromes.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.Acquires knowledge about the examination of a neurological patient, diagnosis of a neurological condition, the choice of clinical, laboratory, instrumental and other examinations applied to it, selection in the specific situation and interpretation of the obtained data, able to independently diagnose the most common neurological diseases in adults, justify the diagnosis and choose adequate treatment tactics.

Skills

1.Able to perform clinical examination of an adult, to use theoretical knowledge, manipulations and instrumental examinations, link examination results to clinical findings, to explain the nature and prognosis of the disease to family members, justify the treatment tactics and the duration of therapy.

Competences

1.Independently plans and organises the improvement and development of one’s professional competence. Competence in neurological problems in adult patients is sufficient to be able to solve the most frequent problems independently, and to understand the essence of the more complex ones, diagnose them and, if necessary, provide emergency assistance, refer to a specialist, as well as implement diagnostic, treatment and preventive measures under the guidance of a specialist. Integrates general neurology knowledge in the development and expansion of the competence of the paediatric neurologist specialty.
