Preliminary Knowledge

LASE acquired knowledge in anatomy, physiology, Latin.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.● Be able to demonstrate comprehensive and healthcare-specific basic and specialised knowledge: about care theories, key concepts in care, health care models, self-care capacity evaluation, wound classification and assessment, the importance of clinical manipulation and care principles, disinfection and sterilization rules, aseptic and antiseptic principles.

Skills

1.● The student will be able to make decisions and address issues related to the patient’s needs and provide a holistic approach to care. ● Make decisions to use appropriate disinfectants (surface, hand, room cleaning).

Competences

1.● Self-application of knowledge and skills in wound assessment, assessment of wound healing stages and selection of appropriate dressings. ● Formulate and analytically characterize key care principles in health promotion. ● Demonstrate a strategic and analytical approach to identifying, evaluating the patient’s overall condition and care problems, to teach them to be sorted in order of priority, as well as to discuss with specialists, non-specialists.

- preparation for the test for: 1) Care process, concepts in care 2) holistic care, self-care capacity evaluation and health care levels 3) aseptic, antiseptic, disinfection, sterilization 4) patient admission rules in hospital, provision of hygiene in care, application of care supplies 5) care of dying, gerontological patients 6) care specificities in various clinical situations (patient with tracheostoma, bowel stoma, IV cannula, bladder longetter. 7) Wound classification and care. - preparation for individual work: analysis of the theory of care. - preparing for independent work: analysis of the clinical situation: identification of care problems, prioritisation and description of care activities.

Students’ knowledge, skills and competences are assessed by the points system. For the completion of the study course, the student shall receive a differentiated assessment on a scale of 10 points. In order to receive a positive assessment of the study course, the overall assessment must correspond to at least 4 points in order to obtain an assessment of knowledge, skills and competences in the balls: ● Obtain a certain number of points (according to the number of examinations provided for in the study course) ● in order for the student to receive a final assessment in the study course, the examinations provided for in the study course must be passed successfully and within the prescribed time period. ● If the examination results in a failed assessment or fails to arrive for the examination, the opportunity shall be given to re-take the examination within two weeks (from the date of the examination) by prior agreement with the lecturer. ● If, within two weeks after the study course, the graduate student has not passed the requirements of the study course, this study course may be completed in the next year of studies in general order. ● final assessment: at the end of the study course, a differentiated assessment is posted based on the amount of points obtained without an additional examination. Criteria for assessing attitudes: 5 points (5% of total assessment) = (100% lecture attendance) 4 points = 80% 3 points = 70% 2 points = 60% 1 point = 50% 0 points = less than 50 points (additional independent work on one of the unattended topics) Test evaluation criteria: Passed 70% - 100% of 50 questions, the student scores 1 for each question. Failed when less than 70% of 50 questions are answered 50 points = 100% (10 points) 35 points = 70% (4 points) assessment for individual work wound care: Score = 20 points by specific criteria: 5 points = student performs wound classification, theoretical, 2 points = justifies each part of the classification, 5 points = describes the selected means for wound 7 points = applies appropriate 3 dressings, justifies the choice assessment for independent work situation analysis - care plan. Score: 25 points 5 points = care problems are described, there are problem causes 2 points = care problems are sorted in priority order 3 points = care problem has a target set 10 points = care actions are relevant to the problem and directed to fix the cause, are sequential and answer questions WHAT? HOW? WHEN? WHY? HOW MUCH? WHO? Assessment in the study subject: 5 points + 50 points +20 points +25 points = 100 points (maximum number of points in the subject) passed 70%, failing to count less than 70% of the total score. 99 - 100 points = 10 balls 98 - 94 = 9 balls 93 - 89 = 8 balls 88 - 84 = 7 balls 83 - 79 = 6 balls 78 - 74 = 5 balls 73 - 70 = 4 balls 69 and under = failed
