About Study Course

Objective

To ensure acquisition and improvement of theoretical knowledge and practical skills in gynaecology in accordance with the requirements of the surgery specialty regulation in order to prepare the doctor for certification in the surgeon specialty.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.- Knowledge of acute conditions and pathologies caused by them in women in the gynaecological clinic, their aetiology, pathogenesis, symptoms, diagnosis, differential diagnosis; - Knowledge of chronic female genital diseases, their aetiology, diagnosis, differential diagnosis, surgical and conservative treatment indications and techniques; - Interpretation of ultrasonographic examination data in the differential diagnosis of gynaecological pathologies (the examination results of 20 patients must be evaluated); - Indications and possibilities of laparoscopic surgery in gynaecology; - Indications and technique of uterine cavity abrasion and puncture of the pouch of Douglas; - Specifics of patient examination before gynaecological surgery; - Specifics of management of the postoperative period in the gynaecological clinic; - VTE risk assessment and prevention; - The importance of the menstrual cycle, contraception and hormone replacement therapy in planned and emergency surgery; - Acute abdomen in gynaecology, causes, diagnosis, differential diagnosis and tactics.

Skills

1.- To perform vaginal and rectal examination; - To palpate mammary glands; - To perform salpingectomy and other operations on the appendages of the uterus in case of life-threatening pathologies.

Competences

1.To provide first aid and emergency qualified assistance to patients with gynaecological pathology.

The doctor must learn about the diagnostic methods, instruments and equipment used in surgery, practical skills in diagnostic and therapeutic manipulation, as well as the practical application of therapeutic methods (surgery) in surgical patients to the extent prescribed in the programme.
