About Study Course

Objective

To learn how to use physical exercise to increase physical fitness, strengthen health and prevent various illnesses in people of different ages and physical abilities.

Preliminary Knowledge

Anatomy, sports physiology, sports biochemistry.

Knowledge

1.Describe and explain exercises for health promotion and disease prevention; the history and development of health sports in the 20th and 21st centuries; name the main functions of health sports and competitive sports; record and classify the types of classes used in health sports; define the terms 'health', 'healthy lifestyle', 'sport', 'health sport'; identify the main factors on which human health depends; justify the importance of physical exercise for strengthening health; formulate the causes of obesity and its adverse effects on the human body, the importance of exercise and the use of physical exercise to prevent obesity; describe the use of exercise in the prevention of various diseases; explain the importance of different exercises in achieving client goals; characterize the physical activity of children, adolescents and young people; peculiarities of physical activity for seniors; tell about physical activity for athletes with health ailments and health conditions where sports activities are prohibited; interpret the basic principles of health-promoting training and their application in health-related sports.

Skills

1.Use aerobic, strength and muscle stretching exercises to strengthen health and prevent disease; select and recommend the most appropriate exercises, the amount and intensity of the workload, different types of classes; develop a simple health sports training programme for people of all ages, depending on their health, fitness and goals, using the basic principles of health sports training.

Competences

1.Develop recommendations for physical activity and a lesson plan for clients of all ages, depending on their state of health, fitness and goals, using the basic principles of health sports training; educate clients on the need for physical exercise and its role in today's society.

Independently acquire various course topics according to the literature sources indicated by the lecturer. Creating two health sports training programs for one month, for a specific person, using aerobic, strength and flexibility exercises, indicating the person's age, gender, height, weight, body mass index (BMI), physical activity, physical fitness, health condition and goals wants to achieve through physical exercise. List the main goals in order of importance that the person wants to achieve through exercise. A matrix prepared in the e-studio which helps the student to prepare and design the programme.
