About Study Course

Objective

Acquisition of knowledge about the basic principles of a healthy diet, food hygiene and risk factors related thereto, food contamination, diseases caused by food. Regulatory enactments of the EU and Latvia.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.As a result of acquisition of the study course a medical resident will obtain knowledge about the basic principles of healthy diet, food hygiene and risk factors related thereto, food contamination, diseases caused by food. Regulatory enactments of the EU and Latvia.

Skills

1.As a result of acquisition of the study course a medical resident will be able to assess compliance with hygiene standards at an object involved in food supply, identify risk factors related thereto, provide recommendations for planning measures for the prevention of the impact of the risk factors on human health.

Competences

1.As a result of acquisition of the study course a medical resident will develop the required competence and will be able to pay a visit to the food object individually, identify and assess potential risk factors, give recommendations for the prevention there of.
