About Study Course

Objective

Acquisition of theoretical knowledge and practical skills in radiological diagnosis and non-invasive treatment of peripheral venous pathology using interventional radiology techniques.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.At the end of this course, residents will know the causes of diseases of the peripheral venous system, clinical, radiological picture, complications, treatment options in interventional radiology.

Skills

1.During the course, residents will learn to do: • Femoral, jugular vein punctures. • Pulmonary artery angiography, pressure measurement. • Mechanical and pharmacological thrombolysis. • Intravenous administration of stents. • Vein embolization. • Temporary placement of dialysis catheters. • Treatment of venous, arterial anastomosis stenosis and occlusions of dialysis fistulas - angioplasty, stents, stent-prosthesis insertion, thrombolysis, thrombus aspiration, mechanical thrombectomy, etc. • Insertion of percutaneous peritoneal dialysis. • Treatment of pseudoaneurysms. • Sampling of venous and arterial blood.

Competences

1.At the end of the course, residents will be able to apply the acquired theoretical knowledge and practical skills to diagnose and treat venous diseases, be aware of possible complications, and will be able to diagnose and treat them.
