About Study Course
Objective
To train the medical residents of the specialty in dermatology, venereology in diagnostic and treatment methods of urogenital pathologies, to develop their ability to diagnose acute conditions in urology and to make differential diagnosis of dermatovenereological and urologic diseases.
Learning Outcomes
Knowledge
1.Demonstrates the acquisition and development of in-depth understanding for the following topics: 1) History of urology. Anatomy, physiology, histology and pathophysiology of the urogenital tract. Urological investigation of a patient. Laboratory and x-ray examination methods. Instrumental methods of examination. Ultrasound in diagnosis of kidney and urinary tract diseases and other investigative techniques. 2) Congenital renal anomalies. 3) Congenital anomalies of the urinary tract. 4) Congenital bladder anomalies. 5) Congenital anomalies of the urethra. 6) Congenital anomalies and disorders of the testis and seminal duct. 7) Phimosis and paraphimosis. 8) Pyelonephritis. 9) Cystitis. 10) Non-specific urethritis. 11) Prostatitis and prostatic calculi. 12) Inflammation of the testicles and its epididymis. 13) Pyonephrosis, paranephritis, paracystitis and the renal carbuncle. 14) Kidney and urinary tract stones. 15) Kidney and urinary tract tumours. 16) Kidney and urinary tract injuries and strictures.
Skills
1.Urethral irrigation in men and gradual dilation, including lavage. Dilation of the female urethra, including irrigation. Removal of a foreign body from the male urethra. Endoscopic urethral and bladder investigation and operative intervention using electrocoagulation. Ureteroscopy. Bladder catheterization. Meatotomy. Non-bleeding elimination of paraphimosis. Circumcision. Separation of the agglutination of the foreskin. Plastic surgery of the foreskin and/or frenulum. Scrotal vasectomy. Prostate massage extracting expressed prostatic secretions. Urodynamic tests of the lower urinary tract. Cystoscopy. Urethral sounding, irrigation of the renal pelvis. Urinary excretion, measurement and uroflowmetry. Management of the bladder tamponade. Plastic surgery of the distal urethra. Ureterorenoscopy. Nephroscopy. Puncture of the corpus cavernosum, excision of induration.
Competences
1.After obtaining the certificate to be competent in working as a dermatologist and venereologist, to apply the knowledge acquired during the study process, to recognize and differentiate the skin and sexually transmitted diseases from other pathologies.
