About Study Course

Objective

Provide theoretical knowledge and practical skills and the improvement of children's allergology.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.Students will be able to: • explain allergology terms; • describe the principles and use of allergic diagnostics; • explain the pathogenesis of allergic diseases at different ages; • evaluate a child-allergic patient; • name and describe children's allergic diseases; • compare different investigation methods; • define allergic diseases.

Skills

1.The student will be able to: • gather relevant information about children's allergic diseases; • apply an appropriate method in the examination of allergic patients; • make a differential diagnosis of allergic diseases; • choose the most suitable/appropriate therapy; • select and use the most appropriate examinations according to the disease and the patient's age.

Competences

1.The student uses the acquired knowledge and skills specific/new situations. • Is able to formulate the main diagnosis of allergic diseases; • Differentiate the disease; • Interpret the data obtained from the skin tests; • To analyze the skin test results; • Develop a plan for the treatment.

Prepare monthly one clinical case and one presentation of a disease investigation allergies in children. The students acquire the skills to communicate with children and their parents, guardians, to collect the necessary information – history, to acquire the skills to investigate allergic patients of different ages, to choose and perform correctly allergy diagnostic and treatment procedures, to draw up a prevention plan.
