About Study Course

Objective

To provide theoretical and practical skills about urgent conditions in traumatology and orthopedics, that oral and maxillo-facial surgeons would be able to investigate the injured patients and to provide pre-hospital emergency medical care at hospital casualty department stage.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.Knows: 1. The principles of investigation of patients with trauma or orthopedic diseases 2. The principles of transport immobilization 3. The principles of fracture diagnosis, emergency treatment 3. The diagnosis of dislocations, emergency treatment 4. The diagnosis of tendons, muscles, nerves, vascular traumatic lesions, emergency care, treatment, tactics difficulties 5. The diagnosis of the thorax, pelvic trauma, emergency care, treatment tactics 6. The diagnosis of acute septic complications, treatment principles.

Skills

1.Is able to 1. Investigate patients with musculoskeletal injuries or diseases 2. Provide emergency care for patients with musculoskeletal injuries 3. Set transport immobilization splints, bandages 4. Interpret skeletal radiographs 5. Investigate septic patients with musculoskeletal diseases.

1.Is able to assess 1. Patients with musculoskeletal injuries or diseases and to provide emergency care and make recommendations 2. Septic patients with musculoskeletal diseases, to provide emergency care and make recommendations 3. The clinical, radiological and laboratory results in patients with musculoskeletal injuries or illness 4. Assign additional tests to clarify the diagnosis of patients with musculoskeletal injuries or illness.
