About Study Course

Objective

To develop the skill to choose and use methods and techniques according to the situation and the specificity of the group of clients/patients, to provide Master’s students with an opportunity to master drama therapy methods and techniques in dealing with different groups of clients/patients, to develop the skills to apply therapeutic interventions and techniques in the therapeutic process appropriately.

Regular self-reflection on professional development in a diary. Independently consolidate the lecture material by reading the given sources. Literature search, selection, analysis, including current research and international databases, with the aim of understanding the specifics of drama therapy work with different groups of diagnoses and patients/clients.

Prepare a summary using scientific literature and research on the work of drama therapy with a specific client/patient group. The summary should include a theoretical basis, drama therapy goals, as well as the methods and techniques used. The volume of the summary is approximately 800 words. At least four literature sources must be used. The work must be submitted electronically.

Attend RSU Psychology Day events "Modern Man, Environment and Technology" (6–9 October, 2026). After the event, prepare a short reflection in which:

  • characterize the main insights gained from the event;
  • indicate one insight or question that prompts further professional exploration.

According to the RSU Academic Regulations (2.15, 2.16), attendance at study course classes is mandatory. Only those who are registered and agreed with Student Services are excusable. Please see the Academic Regulations (2.17, 2.20) for the procedure, deadlines and more detailed information.

The student must attend at least 60% of the study course classes. If more than 40% of the total number of classes are missed, the student is not allowed to take the final examination of the study course and the course is not passed.

Prepare a short theoretical review (how to work with a particular client/patient group) for the case selected for the lottery. Include an assessment of the client/patient's difficulties and functioning based on the diagnosis and life history, formulate the goals of drama therapy and develop a plan for 10 drama therapy sessions, justifying the choice of planned methods and techniques (session goal, theme, DT - warm-up, action and closing phase techniques with a short instruction and purpose of use, planned interventions, session duration). The volume of the work is 2000-3000 words.

Demonstration of practical work in drama therapy with two groups of clients/patients individually and in a group according to a plan, prepared in writing (70%), and the analysis of their own performance and experience (30%).
