About Study Course
Objective
Learning Outcomes
Knowledge
1.Knowledge of mutual interconnection of sports medicine as a multidisciplinary field of medicine and internal medicine, ability to assess the functions of cardiovascular, respiratory, digestive, endocrine, genital and urinary system during rest and physical exercise. Ability to diagnose CHD, AH, BA, COLD, DM, ensure prevention, diagnostics, dynamics of rheumatoid arthritis, reactive arthritis, infectious arthritis, different infectious and cutaneous diseases, STS, podagra, ankylosing spondyloarthritis, seronegative spondyloarthropathies and other diseases, apply the latest diagnostic, treatment methods and prescribe individually suitable physical exercise to these patients.
Skills
1.Ability to examine, assess and develop a treatment plan for patients of different clinical fields, to reasonably select, apply and interpret the data obtained upon applying different examination and functional assessment methods used in internal medicine and sports medicine and ability to apply general intensive therapy principles.
Competences
1.Competence in solving different clinical cases, diagnosis, etiopathogenesis, treatment, prevention and care.

|
During practical classes students monitor patients under the supervision of a physician eligible to provide such training, participate in examination and treatment of a patient by mastering patient examination, diagnostic and therapeutic manipulations. A medical resident shall acquire different diagnostic methods of internal medicine, manipulations to be made, methodology of invasive and non-invasive medical technologies, part of which is also used in sports medicine physician’s practice.

At the end of the study course the head of the residency programme evaluates the acquired theoretical knowledge in written and oral form. The written test shall be assessed according to the 10-point grading system.
