About Study Course

Objective

To provide theoretical and practical knowledge of microeconomic development regularities and the economic environment of business.

Preliminary Knowledge

The study course is based on the general knowledge obtained in a secondary education institution. The study course is a base for all economic and business-related subjects.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.1. Knows, at the level of idea, the development trends in economic systems and regularities between microeconomic objects and entities; 2. Knows at the level of use the organisation of production and services.

Skills

1.3. Able to analyse and evaluate market development trends, competitive situation and possible activities of competitors; 4. Able to assess and analyse the economic performance of a company and the factors affecting the business environment.

Competences

1.5. Able to apply the theoretical and practical knowledge of microeconomics in the management of a company and its departments; 6. Able to conduct research with scientific value in the field of microeconomics.

To perform practical tasks and analyse them during a class in and outside the audience. To choose a research topic, independently collect and analyse the information needed for research purposes, prepare a written summary of the research topic, and present the research paper prepared using PowerPoint. For mastering the study course, the student receives a differentiated assessment in a 10-point grading system. To get a positive assessment for the study course, the total assessment should sum up to at least 4. The student receives assessment by summing up the number of points, assessing knowledge, skills and competences in the performance of individual tasks, and also attitude and individual dynamics. The total assessment is summative. 1. Group work – Production, productivity, costs and profit; 2. Test work No.1 – Basic concepts of economics, resources, environment, costs, profits; 3. Test work No.2 – Concept of market, forms, competition; 4. Test work No.3 – Demand, supply, market mechanism; Presentation – Microeconomic study in the field of sport; Study course examination (written).
