About Study Course

Objective

1. To acquire knowledge about the diversity of health care products, their structure, storage and sale rules. 2. Understand the role and importance of healthcare products in patient care.

Preliminary Knowledge

Prior knowledge of human anatomy, normal physiology, biology, physics and chemistry, pharmaceutical pharmacology is required.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.As a result of studying the study course, the student: 1. You will learn how to systematize healthcare products. 2. Will be able to describe the theoretical principles of operation of certain medical devices, will be able to describe the differences in the use of different devices. 3. Will be able to advise patients about their necessary medical devices and train patients on how to use them correctly.

Skills

1.As a result of studying the study course, the student: 1. Will know how to use the devices defined in the skill list. 2. Will be able to apply and recommend the most suitable health care products for an individual patient - will know how to measure blood pressure correctly, use inhalers, storage rooms, insulin delivery devices, glucometers. 3. Will be able to perform express diagnostics, comment on its results within the scope of competence and provide recommendations for the client's future actions. 4. Will be able to advise on wound care products available in the pharmacy. 5. Will be able to advise patients on the correct choice of hygiene products and their use. 6. Will be able to find the appropriate accessory for the patient's musculoskeletal system, available in the pharmacy. 7. Will be able to advise on the correct preparation and administration of intramuscular medication.

Competences

1.1. Will be able to explain and demonstrate to the patient the use of medical devices (inhalers, insulin delivery devices, glucometers). 2. Will be able to assess the patient's skills in using the device for self-care and provide recommendations for improving use. 3. Will be able to organize and carry out the distribution and monitoring of the use of health care, prevention and health promotion products. 4. Will be able to select and show the patient the appropriate wound care product (burn, pressure sore, postoperative wound, diabetic foot ulcer and scar). 5. Will be able to select and explain to the patient the use of the necessary hygiene product in the pharmacy. 6. Will be able to select and explain to the patient the use of the necessary support and movement accessory. 7. Will be able to explain to the patient the preparation and administration of intramuscular medication.

Students should familiarize themselves with the range of health care products available in pharmacies. Students must independently familiarize themselves with the theory materials posted in e-styde before each lesson. Prepare a presentation on one of the raffle topics, reflecting the role of pharmacists in advising on the use and selection of devices, or as facilitators of hypertension patients and inhaler users. In order to evaluate the quality of the study course as a whole, the student must fill out the study course evaluation questionnaire on the Student Portal.

Assessment of practical skills during role play and mannequins in accordance with a detailed description of skills in the skill list. Electronic tests during classes and in the next lesson on justification of the use of theoretical devices in presentations and video. Exam: Cumulative Exam.
