About Study Course

Objective

To provide an opportunity to acquire in-depth knowledge of intensive therapy methods for adult patients in cardiology and electrocardiography, as well as to provide an opportunity to learn practical manipulations in order to independently provide emergency medical aid at the stage of the pre-hospital and hospital reception department until the patient is transported to the cardiology department.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.The student will know: 1. Recognize the symptoms of acute heart diseases. 2. Identify other diseases characterized by chest pain. 3. Describing the indications and principles of invasive diagnostic and treatment methods in cardiology. 4. Apply emergency pharmacotherapy in cardiology.

Skills

1.The student will be able to: 1. examine and treat patients in the cardiology department and intensive care ward under partial supervision: 2. diagnose acute coronary syndrome and myocardial infarction clinically and electrocardiographically and provide emergency care at the stage of pre-hospital and hospital admission department; 3. differentiate chest pains of cardiological and non-cardiological origin; 4. electrocardiographically diagnose disorders of the heart conduction system (AV blockades, bradyarrhythmias), atrial rhythm disorders, ventricular rhythm disorders.

Competences

1.Examination and treatment of cardiac patients under partial supervision, choosing the most appropriate treatment methods and organizing team work.
