About Study Course

Objective

To promote understanding of students and to develop practical research skills in the analysis of society and communication structures and forms in the context of globalisation, viewing the globalisation process/-es as a multi-layered phenomenon, which manifests in culture, political decision-making, social space.

Preliminary Knowledge

Bachelor’s degree or second level professional higher education in humanities or social sciences.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.Students understand the nature andr processes of globalisation, are aware of the possibility of different interpretations.

Skills

1.Students will be able to independently analyse actual events in communication, culture, social sphere, policy, taking into account global discourses.

Competences

1.Students will be able to integrate approaches to research of globalisation phenomena in their studies and research.

Task – students, upon agreement with the university lecturer, should select a topic for their report and to present the report. Distant students must independently get acquainted with the materials developed by the lecturer, as well as participate in a discussion with the lecturer on the course content issues selected by the lecturer. In order to evaluate the quality of the study course as a whole, the student must fill out the study course evaluation questionnaire on the Student Portal.
