About Study Course

Objective

To improve the professional competence of students to plan, organise, implement and evaluate sports and health lessons in primary and secondary education in accordance with the standard of education, the characteristics of the development of the student age stage and the knowledge of modern sports pedagogy. Develop the skills to choose and justify didactic approaches by creating a safe, inclusive and health-enhancing learning environment and fostering the development of translational skills during sports and health hours.

Preliminary Knowledge

Understanding the principles of the organisation of the pedagogical process, the regularities of pupil development and the importance of physical activity at different stages of age. Knowledge of basic principles for planning, implementing and evaluating the learning process, didactic guidelines and safety requirements. Ability to plan and organise physical activities, choose appropriate learning methods, analyse scientific and methodological literature, use digital tools and reflect on their pedagogical activity. Experience in pedagogical practice and professional cooperation in the educational environment.

Fulfilment conditions: Individual written work, essay/thought card “Why should I come to Sports and Health hour?”; a reasoned essay on the importance of physical activity; an annotation of the selected video; analysis of professional literature (10 theses per chapter); analysis and reflection of the teacher’s professional mission.

  • the appropriateness of the theoretical justification for the problem analysed and the purpose of the work;
  • the validity of the analysis of scientific and methodological literature in identifying and analysing relevant findings;
  • the logic and validity of professional reasoning on the basis of scientific and methodological literature;
  • the validity of the conclusions by linking them to the analysis of the work and theoretical knowledge;
  • the accuracy of the use of professional terminology;
  • compliance of the work structure with academic writing requirements.

  • plans for the integration of rolling skills.

Assessment parameters and criteria:

  • compliance of the wording of the results to be achieved with the standard of education;
  • compliance of the thematic plan with the learning content requirements and the age of pupils;
  • linking the objectives and tasks of the hour with the results to be achieved;
  • the validity of the integration of selected teaching methods and rolling skills;
  • the accuracy of the use of professional terminology;
  • compliance of the work structure with academic writing requirements.

Methodical development of sports and health lessons

Job description: The student develops a methodologically substantiated plan of an hour of sport and health for different degrees of education.

Fulfilment conditions: Individual methodological work in which:

  • develop a storyline or thematic sports and health lesson;
  • prepare an hourly presentation;
  • develop a plan for a meaningful hour of sport and health;
  • justifies the physiological, psychological and pedagogical importance of each task.

Assessment parameters and criteria:

  • compliance of the sports and health hourly plan with the standard of education and the results to be achieved;
  • the relevance of the selected physical activities and teaching methods to the age of the pupils;
  • the appropriateness of the theoretical justification of the tasks to the hourly objective;
  • the validity of the integration of rolling skills;
  • the accuracy of the use of professional terminology;
  • compliance of the work structure with academic writing requirements.

Assessment parameters and criteria: Evaluate:

  • compliance of the implementation of the hourly fragment with the expected deliverables;
  • compliance of the organisation of physical activities with the age and safety requirements of the pupils;
  • compliance of communication and teaching process management with pedagogical principles;
  • the validity of the reflection by analysing the strengths of the hour and areas to be developed;
  • precision of the use of professional terminology.

Development of a methodological system for physical activity

Job description: The student develops a set of methodological materials for sports and health hours.

Fulfilment conditions: Work in pairs in which:

  • develop a set of exercises/obstacle course for the development of one physical characteristic in different class groups;
  • create a circle workout;
  • develop physical fitness control exercises;
  • presents the methodological solution.

Assessment parameters and criteria:

  • compliance of the developed exercises with the results to be achieved and the age of the pupils;
  • compliance of the methodological materials with the objective of the hour of sport and health;
  • the justification for differentiating physical activity;

Job description: The student independently develops a methodologically justified sports and health hourly account during the examination for a drawn class group in accordance with the educational standard. The lessons in the Conspectus shall formulate the results to be achieved, plan the structure of the hour, select learning methods, organisation forms, physical activities, training means, assessment techniques, safety requirements and justify the chosen methodological solutions.

Fulfilment conditions: Individual written examination in which the student:

  • draw lots for a particular class group and study subject;
  • develop a full account of the hour of sport and health;
  • formulate the results to be achieved per hour;
  • develop a detailed step-by-step hourly process;
  • select and justify physical activities, training methods and forms of organisation;
  • describe the necessary training tools;
