About Study Course

Objective

To provide and enhance the theoretical knowledge and practical skills in neonatal surgery, per the pediatric surgical specialty’s requirements to prepare the doctor for certification in the specialty of pediatric surgery.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.- to define conservative and surgical treatment indications in neonatal surgery for term and preterm babies; - to draft the examination and treatment plan for neonates with acute surgical disorders; - To orientate with the diagnostic methods and instruments used in neonatal surgery, as well as the surgical treatment options and principles. To learn: • detailed theoretical knowledge of emergency situations in neonatal surgery for children of various ages. • conservative and surgical treatment indications and use of surgical emergencies in term and preterm babies. • diagnostic methods, instruments and apparatuses, and practical skills for diagnostic and treatment manipulations used in neonatal surgery, as well as for surgical treatment methods of practical use for neonates. • to draft an examination and treatment plan for neonates with acute and chronic organ illnesses.

1.- To determine indications for surgical treatment of neonates. - To perform therapeutic procedures for surgical term and preterm babies.
