About Study Course

Objective

To acquire basic knowledge of occupational medicine as a clinical discipline, its goals and tasks, its place among other clinical disciplines, in order to be able to assess the compliance of the work environment risk factors with the regulatory documents of the Republic of Latvia and/or other countries, as well as of the possibility of preventing risk factors and their effects on the human body.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.About the role and place of occupational health among other fields related to the work environment and health, about the tasks of the occupational physician in occupational health, about laws and regulations on occupational health and occupational safety.

Skills

1.To organise labour protection and occupational health measures in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Latvia.

Competences

1.To apply knowledge and skills in practical work with occupational patients.
