About Study Course

Objective

Development of professional competences of sports coaches in traditional sports -orienteering and Nordic walking in the acquisition of basic techniques and teaching methodologies.

Preliminary Knowledge

Knowledge of foreign languages at a sufficient level to understand specialised literature, in English and including Latvian.. Parallel learning of the study course “Human functioning”.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.Student is familiar with basic orienteering and nordic walking terms (including special terms in Latvian and English), basic principles of technique and didactic theories.

Orientation of the place of residence in the identification of sports cards, research in the area Theoretical test in Nordic walking Development of walking activity

2.Understand teaching strategies, evaluation basics, and the role of technology (GPS/mobile apps) in performance analysis.

1.Able to demonstrate and analyse nordic walking and orienteering techniques; develop individual improvement programmes.

Development of practical work - evaluation of individual skills, techniques by developing methodologies for improvement of the appropriate technique (exercises, dosing);

Conducting an independent orientation distance by registering GPS in one of the OS Folk competitions or similar activities’. Analyze your choice of path with GPS
