About Study Course
Objective
Provide students with basic knowledge of the types of classes of different fitness groups, the principles for organising and conducting them, as well as terminology in Latvian and English. As part of the study course, students acquire the skills to demonstrate and combine physical exercises, plan and structure group classes, as well as to use pedagogical and communication methods in working with different groups of clients. Interdisciplinary understanding of the impact of physical exercise on the human body, basic principles of safety, is developed in the study process.

Students lead a class of their choice (from the group classes they have learned). 10 With distinction The class is planned and led with distinction, independently and professionally. The content fully corresponds to the goal and the preparedness of the participants. The load is precisely managed, methodically sound modifications are demonstrated, and high-quality feedback is provided. 9 Excellent The class fully meets the requirements and is led professionally. Only minor irrelevancies are allowed, which do not affect the quality and safety of the class. 8 Very good All essential requirements are met. Individual shortcomings in load management, modification selection, or feedback provision are detected, which do not affect the achievement of the class goal. 7 Good The class is planned and led well overall. There are some methodological or organizational inaccuracies, but the class goal is achieved and safety is ensured. 6 Almost good The basic requirements are met, but several shortcomings are detected in the structure of the class, the sequence of exercises, the intensity of the load, modifications, or feedback. 5 Satisfactory The class is implemented overall, but there are significant methodological and organizational shortcomings in its management. The main goal is achieved, and safety requirements are met. 4 Almost satisfactory The class meets minimum requirements. The structure and management are incomplete, the selection of exercises and load dosage is partially justified, but the class is implemented safely. 3 Poor Significant shortcomings are detected in the planning and management of the class. The goal is only partially achieved, and modifications of exercises and feedback are inadequate. 2 Very poor Only individual skills in leading a class are demonstrated. There is a lack of logical structure, appropriate load management, and safe organization. 1 Very, very poor The student is unable to independently plan and lead the chosen group class. The requirements for the final work are not met. |
