About Study Course

Objective

To provide traynees with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills acquisition and opportunities for the development in a specific health care field - traumatology and orthopedics. To prepare traynees for certification exam in Physical and rehabilitation medicine specialty according to Latvian Republic normative documents.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.Theoretical knowledge of traumatic conditions and orthopedic patients diagnostic and treatment principles Traynee will be able to name, define, classify and characterize the most common traumatic conditions and orthopedic diseases, as a result, patients can gain permanent and disabling health problems.

Skills

1.Traynee will evaluate and assess trauma condition and orthopedic patients Will be able to analyze the results of the evaluation Will be able to predict the results of outcomes Will be able to identify risk factors for complications Will be able to draw up a plan for the prevention of complications Will be able to determine the patient's rehabilitation is needed

Competences

1.Traynee will be able to use the acquired knowledge and to develop a longterm rehabilitation plan starting from the acute phase of treatment and predicted late in treatment and rehabilitation outcomes Will be able to develop prevention plans
