About Study Course

Objective

To provide students with and improve their theoretical knowledge and practical skills in maxillofacial surgery in accordance with the requirements of the surgery speciality regulations in order to prepare the doctor for certification in surgeon’s speciality.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.- emergency conditions in maxillofacial surgery; - diagnostics, treatment of maxillofacial injuries; - suppurative infections in the oral, maxillofacial region. - ethiopathogenesis, statistics, diagnostic and treatment principles of benign tumours, precancer and cancer of facial skin, lips and mouth. - tumours of salivary glands and facial bones. - reconstructive surgery.

Skills

1.To perform maxillary splinting, treatment of wounds in the maxillary region, local incisions and removal of cutaneous lesions.

Competences

1.To deliver qualified first and emergency medical assistance to patients with maxillofacial pathology.
