About Study Course

Objective

Course objective: to ensure the improvement of the theoretical knowledge and practical skills in dental prosthetics by developing an evidence-based and substantiated treatment plan for a complex and individual approach to each clinical situation and quality and justified treatment.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.Knowledge to compile a complex, interdisciplinary treatment plan, indicating the benefits and risks, evaluating long-term prognosis.

Skills

1.Application of knowledge: independently apply medical problem solving skills in order to exercise the professional functions of a highly qualified specialist. Analysis, synthesis, assessment: independently formulate and critically analyse complicated clinical medical problems, critically assess the studies in the field of medical science; integrate the knowledge of various medical fields. Communication: in an argued manner explain and discuss either complex or systemic aspects of the particular doctor's speciality and medical science with both specialists and non-specialists; Ability to analyse various clinical situations. Good quality practical performance, carrying out the manipulations and clinical stages of dental prosthetics mentioned below.

In preparation for the admission of patients to the clinic, the student independently and in addition to the CP of the study course is ready to: To provide the necessary knowledge for the development of a complex seizure plan, using all possible diagnostic options - analysis of digital diagnostic models, i-cat X-ray images, 3D photographs. • To provide understanding and skills in the planning and implementation of aesthetic prosthetics. • To provide knowledge in complex bite reconstruction. • To promote interdisciplinary cooperation in resolving complex situations. • To give skills in implant prosthetics, I will put into practice the latest technologies. • To provide an understanding of a reasonable choice of restorative materials. • To introduce and analyze the current scientific literature.

The student submits for evaluation and discussion a description of the clinical situation of 10 fully cured patients, analysis, proposed treatment plans and descriptions and photos of the treatment performed.

Oral test at the end of the course. Analysis of clinical situations, development of a treatment plan, and quality performance of dental prosthetics: • at the end of the first academic year — 5 situations • at the end of the second academic year — 10 situations • at the end of the third academic year — 10 situations At the end of the study course: • Analysis of the aforementioned 25 clinical situations, the development of a treatment plan, and qualitatively performed dental prosthetics — the submission of a portfolio; • by the choice of the commission, the presentation and discussion of 1 situation from the submitted portfolio; • the analysis of an unfamiliar patient's clinical situation, issued by the commission, and the development of a treatment plan; • presentation of the literature review in relation to the given subject; • presentation of a research paper.
