Objective

Knowledge
1.During the time allocated for rotation discipline, the medical resident acquires basic knowledge and competence in preoperative examination of the living donor, preparation for explantation, explantation of living donor organs, postoperative treatment of the donor, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of possible complications.
Skills
1.As a result of completing the rotation discipline, the medical resident will be able to prepare living donors for organ (kidney) explantation, organ (kidney) explantation from living donors, post-operative treatment and observation of the donor.
Competences
1.To select living kidney donors, prepare for the kidney retrieval surgery, perform the kidney retrieval surgery, prepare the retrieved kidney for transplantation, manage the donor’s treatment and post-operative observation, document and register the donation in accordance with the law.

|
During the cycle, the medical resident must acquire detailed theoretical knowledge of living donor surgery, organ procurement techniques, post-operative donor management and observation. Practical skills in obtaining donor organs from living donors and in managing the post-operative period of donors. Must be able to obtain a high-quality donor organ (kidney) from a living donor for future transplantation, manage the donor after kidney explantation.

At the end of the cycle, lecturer evaluates the practical skills on a 10-point scale, recording it in the medical resident’s logbook.
The theoretical knowledge is tested in writing and assessed on a 10-point scale.
