About Study Course

Objective

Develop and raise understanding of basic principles of psychological assessment and evaluation, assesment objectives, ethical aspects, methods, types, prerequisites and limitations.

Preliminary Knowledge

General psychology, cognitive psychology, personality psychology and developmental psychology.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.Defines the concept, objectives of psychological assessment. Has knowledge to describe the stages of psychological research and their content; understand the specific nature of the psychological assessment of ageing stages; understands the limitations of psychological assessment; know the conditions of professional ethics in the context of psychological assessment; identify and classify psychological assessment methods, their application areas and limitations.

Skills

1.Analyses the sequence of stages of psychological assessment and their significance. Identify appropriate assessment methods in accordance with the purpose. Assess the advantages and limitations of assessment methods by justifying the choice. Explain the ethical duties and professional standards of a psychologist in assessment.

Competences

1.Integrate theoretical knowledge to select appropriate assessment methods for different purposes. Apply principles of psychological assessment when planning the assessment process. Comply with professional and ethical requirements in psychological assessment.
