About Study Course

Objective

To acquire basic knowledge of occupational medicine as a clinical discipline, its objectives and tasks, place among other clinical disciplines in order to be able to evaluate the compliance of work environment risk factors with regulatory enactments of Latvia and/or other countries, as well as the possibility of preventing risk factors and their impact on the human body.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.Of the role of occupational health and its place among other areas related to the work environment and health, of the tasks of an occupational doctor in occupational health, of the regulatory enactments with regard to occupational health and safety at work.

Skills

1.To organise labour protection and occupational health measures according to the legislation of the Republic of Latvia.

Competences

1.Tto use the knowledge and skills in practical work with patients of occupational diseases.
