About Study Course

Objective

To ensure the acquisition and improvement of theoretical knowledge and practical skills in gynecology, in accordance with the requirements of the regulations of the urology specialty, in order to prepare the doctor for certification in the urology specialty, in accordance with the regulatory documents of the Republic of Latvia.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.- Ultasonogrāfiskās investigation data interpretation gynecological pathology in the differential diagnosis (20 patients evaluated results of the investigation) - Indications for laparoscopic surgery and gynecology options - The uterine cavity Abrasives and Douglas cavity puncture indicating and equipment - Patients Peculiarities of investigation before gynecological surgery - Post-operative period management peculiarities of gynecological clinic - VTE risk assessment and prevention - Menstrual cycle, contraception and hormone replacement therapy role in emergency and elective surgery - Acute abdomen in gynecology, causes, diagnosis, differential and tactics.

Skills

1.Can: - perform a vaginal and rectal examination - palpate the mammary glands - perform salpingectomy and other operations on the appendages of the uterus in case of life-threatening pathologies.

Competences

1.• Theoretical knowledge of acute conditions and pathologies caused by them in women in the gynecological clinic, their etiology, pathogenesis, symptomatology, diagnosis, differential diagnosis. • Theoretical knowledge of chronic female genital diseases, their etiology, diagnosis, differential diagnosis, surgical and conservative treatment indications and technique. • Diagnostic methods, instruments and equipment used in the gynecological clinic.
