Objective
Learning Outcomes
Knowledge
1.Knowledge of the basic issues of sports medicine about muscle tissue physiology, assessment methods of movement support apparatus, gender-specific differences in sports and medical care of female athletes.
Skills
1.Ability to assess the health risk of a patient, the risk of injuries while training according to an inadequate training regime and to find possibilities for reducing the load. Ability to examine, assess and prepare a treatment plan for patients, reasonably select, apply and interpret the obtained data in sports medicine, and the examination and functional assessment methods used in sports medicine, ability to apply general intensive therapy principles.
Competences
1.Competence in solving different clinical cases, their diagnostics, etiopathogenesis, treatment, prevention and care.

|
Theoretical knowledge is acquired in 6 seminars and individual literature studies. During practical classes students control patients under the supervision of a physician eligible to provide such training, participate in examination and treatment of a patient by mastering patient examination, as well as diagnostics and medical manipulations. A medical resident acquires different diagnostic methods and manipulations to be made in the field of sports medicine which are also applied in sports medicine physician’s practice.

At the end of the study course the head of the residency programme evaluates the acquired theoretical knowledge in written and oral form. The written exam shall be assessed according to the 10-point grading system.
