About Study Course

Objective

To develop knowledge and skills about the work of a classroom educator on the basis of the objectives, tasks and different didactic approaches included in the standard of primary education and general secondary education, their implementation during classroom hours. Acquired knowledge, skills to be applied in pedagogical placements to perform the functions of a classroom educator and to manage project work.

Preliminary Knowledge

Knowledge of the pedagogical process in school, inclusive education, regulatory framework. Ability to plan, organize and manage the learning process, choose appropriate teaching methods, ensure a safe learning environment, evaluate performance and reflect on professional activity.

Develop and present/lead a class lesson on the topic and class determined by the lecturer. Presentation time (20 min.). Include theoretical material on the topic, plan practical activities, worksheets and feedback.

Evaluation criteria:

  • relevance to the topic and age group;
  • appropriateness of the chosen teaching methods to the set learning outcomes and their pedagogical justification;
  • quality of presentation, methodological justification, clarity of instructions given to students;
  • compliance with safety requirements and effective time management.

Project plan

30.00% from total grade
10 points

Based on the material given in the lecture, compile information, develop and present a plan for a project week for a primary school class specified by the lecturer, linking two learning areas. Specify: the goal, the expected result, the plan for the project week, the methods, the division of responsibilities, the necessary inventory/equipment, and the financing. Specify references from each subject standard included in the project (Regulation No. 747 of the Cabinet of Ministers "Regulations on the State Standard for Basic Education and Sample Subject Standards for Basic Education"). Presentation time -15 min.

Evaluation criteria:

  • relevance to the topic and age group;
  • linking of both learning areas;
  • detailed plan for the project week;
  • appropriateness of the chosen teaching methods to the set achievable results, their pedagogical justification;
  • quality of presentation;
  • compliance with safety requirements and effective time planning.

Dynamic pause

10 points

Design a dynamic break for a specific age group of students, and lead it to a group. Justify the choice, the sequence of exercises, and the interdisciplinary link with other learning areas in a specific class.

  • safety requirements;
  • effective time management.

The exam consists of 3 questions to be answered in free form. The questions cover topics on the duties of the class teacher, documentation, work in class hours and class management, work with parents of students, as well as planning of project week, interdisciplinary links, methods of work with students. Students who have successfully completed all independent works are admitted to the exam.
