About Study Course

Objective

To ensure the acquisition of effective action in various situations critical to the patient's (victim's) health and life, both in clinical practice, using the equipment available in medical institutions, and outside the clinic, at the scene until the arrival of a doctor or EMT team.

Preliminary Knowledge

Prerequisites are required in the subjects acquired in the previous study years – human anatomy, physiology, pathological physiology, propaedeutics of internal diseases, clinical pharmacology, clinical care, internal diseases and general surgery.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.As a result of mastering the study course, students will be able to describe the theoretical substantiation of the acquired emergency medical care methods and algorithms.

Skills

1.The student will be able to perform the basic algorithm of cardiopulmonary resuscitation and elements of the advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation algorithm (defibrillation method, automatic external defibrillation, manual and simple, instrumental methods of airway patency, artificial lung ventilation with anesthesia), manual ventilator) pulmonology, neurology, pediatrics, endocrinology, and pregnant and postpartum women. Take action in case of allergies and anaphylactic shock. Orient in the procedures applicable in the EMS stage.

Competences

1.The student will be competent to provide emergency medical care, rationally and effectively using the acquired methods and manipulations, as well as available human and equipment resources.

Exam – MCQ test and oral questions on the course topic and task with training mannequins basic algorithm of cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Evaluation criteria in the theoretical multi-answer test: more than 75% of correct answers. Assessment criteria for cardiopulmonary resuscitation – must know and practically perform the basic resuscitation algorithm, assessing the safety of the environment, consciousness test, call for help, airway clearance, breathing test, chest compression, artificial lung ventilation with a manual ventilator.
