About Study Course
Objective
To provide residents with a base knowledge of periodontal disease prevention, etiology, pathogenesis, diagnosis, and treatment planning.
To acquire basic diagnostics and conservative treatment methods of periodontal disease during etiotropic and maintenance phase of treatment.
Learning Outcomes
Knowledge
1.Basic knowledge of Etiology and pathogenesis of periodontal disease; Basic knowledge of Examination and diagnosis of periodontal disease; Basic knowledge of Correlation between periodontal and systemical diseases; Basic knowledge of Treatment planning of periodontal disease; Basic knowledge of Periodontal treatment assessment results.
Skills
1.Basic skills in patient's motivation and individual oral hygiene instructions; Basic skills in Soft plaque removal, supragingival and subgingival scaling, root planning; Basic skills in Gingival pockets curettage; Basic skills in Iatrogenic factors prevention; Basic skills in Dental splinting; Basic skills in The treatment of acute conditions.
Competences
1.Use the acquired knowledge in clinical practice; Is able to make an exact diagnosis and compile a treatment plan; Interpret and analyze the treatment results.
