Objective
Learning Outcomes
Knowledge
1.During the rotation period the resident acquires knowledge and competence in the characteristics of the diagnostic methods of various infectious diseases, their specificity, sensitivity, level of information, their application time and possible mistakes.
Skills
1.During the rotation period the resident will be able to choose the most informative method of diagnosis, properly collect the necessary material for laboratory diagnosis and evaluate the obtained results.
Competences
1.• properly collect material for laboratory diagnosis of infectious diseases and evaluate the obtained results, taking into consideration the nature of the method and the age of the child; • choose the specific diagnostic methods; evaluate the level of their information and the application time.

During the study course the resident shall acquire theoretical and practical knowledge of identification possibilities of various infectious agents, sensitivity and specificity of microbiological and virological methods, interpretation of the possible results, mistakes and technique.

1) At the end of the study course the lecturer assesses practical skills in a 10-point grading system, recording the assessment in the Resident’s book.
