About Study Course

Objective

Promote the professional competence of students by promoting the realisation of systematised and empirically substantiated content on basic issues of contact psychology and communication, the development, developments and manifestations of personality interaction skills.

Preliminary Knowledge

Students have basic knowledge of basic concepts of psychology and pedagogy, psychic cognitive processes, personality development laws and principles of pedagogical interaction. Able to characterise human behaviour and development at different stages of age, as well as analyse educational interaction situations in a learning or sports environment. Able to use basic principles of psychology and pedagogy within the meaning of human interaction in teaching and professional activities.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.Name the theoretical basic directions of the psychology of contact and explain their topicality in today’s social environment.

2.Describe the structure of contact, social perception processes, communication and interaction expressions, as well as social impact factors.

3.Defines personality behavioral phenomena in groups, types of conflicts, how they occur, and how to solve them.

Skills

1.Explain and analyse current socio-psychological problems in the work of a sports educator and determine their possible causes in the socio-psychological context.

2.Discuss and analyse communication and cooperation skills in the professional activities of a sports specialist.

3.The theoretical knowledge of the psychology of communication in simulated or practical communication situations in a sports or training environment shall be applied.

Competences

1.Identify and analyse socio-psychological problems in the sports environment by selecting appropriate communication strategies in the activities of the sports specialist.

2.Analytical evaluations shall be made of the social phenomena of the group, the impact of the social environment and the interaction of personality in the professional activities of the sports specialist.

Conflicts in the sporting environment

Test

Students analyze social perceptions and communication processes in three conflict situations in a sports team or group. Conflict resolution strategies and communication methods in a simulated situation shall be evaluated. Evaluation criteria: evaluation of social perceptions in 3 situations. Conflict resolution and discussion methods in the sports team/group. Simulation of situations.

Analysis of scientific research

The student analyses an up-to-date scientific study on contact or communication problems in the sports environment, identifying socio-psychological factors and interpreting the study results. The work is credited if the student chooses an appropriate scientific study, describes the purpose, methods and main results of the research, and interprets the significance of the research in the sports or pedagogical environment. Evaluation criteria: quality of study analysis, interpretation of socio-psychological factors and validity of conclusions. Rating scale - counted/not counted.

Presentation on the selected topic.

The student prepares and presents work on interactive aspects of contact in a sports training or sports class, analysing the importance of communication and social interaction in professional activity. The work is evaluated if the student prepares a structured presentation, presents the selected topic in a seminar class and formulates conclusions regarding the importance of communication in the sports environment. Evaluation criteria: analysis of the communication situation, theoretical justification and use of literature, presentation structure and quality of conclusions.

The examination examines students’ theoretical knowledge of theoretical directions of contact psychology, communication processes, social perception, group processes and conflict resolution principles. The examination is assessed if the student answers test and/or open answer questions, explains the socio-psychological processes. Evaluation criteria: understanding theoretical concepts, explaining communication and social interaction processes and being able to apply theoretical knowledge to the analysis of examples.
