About Study Course

Objective

To ensure that students master skills of work with different target groups in social work practice.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.After a successful mastering of the study course the student will be able: • to list and describe the professional skills needed by a social worker; • to outline the role of professional skills in social work; • to recognise different groups of social work clients; • to choose an appropriate communication style in work with different target groups; • to explain the differences in the communication specification in work with different target groups.

Skills

1.After a successful mastering of the study course the student will be able: • to identify the necessary professional skills for a social worker when working with individual client groups; • to use certain professional skills in work with a client.

Competences

1.After a successful mastering of the study course the student will be able: • to use and increase the mastered professional skills during study placement.
