Preliminary Knowledge

Dental anatomy and occlusion, dental materials, preclinical course in cariology and prosthodontics, periodontology, endodontology, computer knowledge.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.On successful completion of the course students will know the basics of the microprosthodontics: evaluation of teeth, teeth preparation and preservation for ITR, correct usage of materials and instruments, analogue and digital impressions, CEREC system in microprosthodontics, cementation of ITR.

Skills

1.Practical ability to restore teeth with inlays, onlays, veneers, partial crowns made from different materials via digital workflow.

Competences

1.Ability to use theoretical and practical knowledge in microprosthodontics in everyday dental practice, offering the patients more therapy modalities using appropriate materials and techniques.

Assessment

Individual work

-
-
1. Analysis of one article about ITR or digital dentistry (20%) - independent work. 2. Test in e-studies (25%) 3. Semester paper. Description of the one clinical case: diagnosis, planning of the ITR, material choice, cementation procedure (30%) - independent work. 4. Producing of one ITR in preclinic (25%). The student are asked to fill the course evaluation questionnaire.

Examination

Examination

-
-
Participation in seminars and production of ITR, successfully passed final test, submitted semester paper with clinical case and article analysis. The exam or final assessment is accumulative - the total grade will be calculated from the two papers to be submitted: the test and the permanent paper.
