About Study Course

Objective

To give students the opportunity to acquire theoretical and practical basic knowledge for teaching the basics of Nordic walking in sports pedagogy.

Preliminary Knowledge

Successful completion of previous study courses in the module: General Pedagogy, Adult Education, General and Developmental Psychology, Anatomy, Physiology Basics, Sports Philosophy, First Aid, Age Physiology. When starting the study course, knowledge, skills and abilities are required in accordance with the standard of general secondary education in sports.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.Knows the facts, understands the theories and regularities of outdoor and adventure activities (including Nordic walking), module topics. Knows learning strategies, methods and techniques. Understands the types of learning performance assessment and the criteria determining them.

Skills

1.Uses various learning methods, techniques and study aids to master the content of the subject and develop general skills. Builds a supportive study environment, respecting the principles of confidentiality and privacy. Organises situations close to real life in the study process. Chooses appropriate methods for assessing learning achievements Nordic walking activities.

Competences

1.Uses fact-based, theoretical knowledge and knowledge of patterns in an integrated way, purposefully and critically selects and uses different methods, technologies and teaching methodological materials in the study process for the needs of students and according to the learning outcomes. Organises a study environment appropriate for the objective and tasks of studies. Able to justify the role of feedback, formative and summative assessment in achieving the objective and outcome of studies.

During studies, students, using lecture materials and various other sources of information, perform independent work: 1) Plan an outdoor activity with basic Nordic walking skills, including using modern technologies – mobile apps and/or GPS recording devices; 2) development of a laboratory work on Nordic walking – assessment of individual skills, technique developing a proper technique improvement methodology for oneself (exercises, proportioning); 3) preparation for the theoretical test in Nordic walking – test and practical tests, in accordance with instructions of the teaching staff.

The final assessment of the study course is formed by summing up various interim examinations during the course. 1. 1.1. Assessment of Nordic walking technique - analysis of video materials 1.2.
