Objective
Learning Outcomes
Knowledge
1.Know the role of environmental factors in the development of respiratory diseases, prevention. Anatomy of normal and pathological airways, physiology, lung/respiratory mechanics. Possibilities of lung function tests depending on children’s age. Know the aetiology of various respiratory diseases, pathogenesis, clinic, diagnosis, differential diagnosis, prophylaxis, treatment of various respiratory diseases: human immunodeficiency virus infection, bronchiolitis obliterans, pneumonia, bronchial asthma, bronchiolitis, cardiovascular diseases, foreign body aspirations. Know the groups of inhaled medications, inhalation techniques in children of preschool and school age.
Skills
1.Able to apply knowledge and skills to carry out in-depth examination, evaluation, interpretation of the obtained results, preparation of a treatment plan for patients with acquired and congenital lung and respiratory diseases at any age.
Competences
1.Use the acquired knowledge and skills to perform the functions of a highly qualified specialist and to advise patients with acquired and congenital lung and respiratory diseases at any age of the child.

During each study course, reports are prepared, clinical cases are reviewed, and the latest literature is reviewed.
In addition to seminars, residents conduct research and pedagogical work, as well as attend lectures organised by the Centre for Continuing Education on interdisciplinary problems and theoretical guidelines in medicine and other sciences.
