About Study Course

Objective

To provide postgraduate theoretical and practical acquirement and improvement of skills to qualify doctors to be practitioners in general surgery according to requirements of regulation, corresponding to the normative documentation of the Latvian Republic.

Knowledge

1.• To investigate patients with chronic kidney disease prior to inclusion on the waiting list for a transplant • To choose the correct terminal chronic kidney disease patient treatment tactics with the help of dialysis and transplantation • To choose the correct treatment of post-transplant patients with urological and surgical complications • Correctly mean immunosuppressed patients after kidney transplantation • To provide an initial and immediate assistance for qualified patients with acute kidney transplant pathology • Interpretation of the applied diagnostic methods (analysis of clinical, radiological, etc.) and the results of examinations • Learn the most common surgical approaches to blood vessels providing hemodialysis access;

• Detailed theoretical knowledge of renal replacement therapy with dialysis and kidney transplantation, indications, contraindications, post-transplant treatment and an increased incidence of acute and chronic complications. • Donororgānu acquisition principles, organ donors, indications and contraindications of the donor kidney removal and for use in transplants. • Kidney transplantation used in diagnostic methods, tools and hardware, practical skills for diagnostic and therapeutic manipulation, as well as treatment methods (operations) of practical use in patients with renal transplant. • To provide qualified emergency kidney transplant recipients with acute urological diseases and complications. Theoretical education - seminars: • Renal replacement surgical aspects of surgical complications. Preparation of kidneys for transplantation, "waiting" list. • Organ donors (living and dead), indications and contraindications donororgānu (kidney) acquisition and transplantation. Transplant coordination. Organ removal surgical aspects. • Organ (kidney) transplant. Post-transplant treatment, immunosuppression. Complications, the clinic, diagnosis and treatment. Short-term and long-term results.
