About Study Course

Objective

The purpose of the scientific research paper is to develop skills of doctoral students in publishing and presenting the results of their scientific papers on a local and international scientific scale.

Preliminary Knowledge

Communication and cultural theories, Research ethics, Quantitative research methods, Qualitative research methods.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.Students develop knowledge to evaluate the problem to be resolved, to analyse reasons and find a solution.

Skills

1.Students create arguments, justify conclusions and maintain a correct discussion, communication and cooperation at a local and international level on latest research matters in the communication science.

1.Students perform modern, original research in the communication science.

In September of each academic year within the deadlines set by the Department of Doctoral Studies doctoral students should submit for evaluation reports on performance of scientific activities. The student's contribution to the improvement of the study process is the provision of meaningful feedback on the study course by filling out its evaluation questionnaire.

At the end of each year of studies the head of study programme jointly with the Department of Doctoral Studies creates a commission for the assessment of scientific research papers of doctoral students on the basis of reports submitted by the student. In case of a positive assessment doctoral students receive respective credit points for the year of studies. For a doctoral student to get 24 CPs at the end of the 3rd year of studies, doctoral students need to have at least one publication on the topic of the doctoral thesis in reviewed scientific editions or an approval for acceptance of the publication for publication.
