About Study Course
Objective
Promote the development of the professional competence of students in the organisation and management of teaching and learning of movement toys and games, taking into account the individual opportunities of learners and compliance with the learning outcomes to be achieved, integrating interdisciplinary knowledge (professional terminology in English, anatomy, physiology and pedagogy) and observing the principles of safety, ethics and inclusive education. To enable students to acquire theoretical knowledge and practical skills in modelling and regulation of variants of movement toys and games with changed rules.
Preliminary Knowledge
The level of knowledge and skills should be in line with the standard of general secondary education in sport, as well as the need for general knowledge in human anatomy and physiology to understand the basics of movement and the impact of physical activity on the human body. Knowledge of English for professional terminology is desirable.
Learning Outcomes
Knowledge
1.Understands the diversity of movement toys and games, the types of classification, history and development in Latvia and the world.
2.Will be familiar with the methodology of teaching movement toys and games: teaching methods, teaching aids, forms for organising a sports lesson.
3.Is familiar with the wording and terminology of movement toys and games in Latvian and English.
Skills
1.Can practically plan, manage movement games and games and evaluate their acquisition in accordance with the State pre-school education guidelines, the State basic education standard and the requirements of the State secondary education standard in the field of learning.
2.Understands the modelling and load adjustment of toy and game variants in practical toy management.
3.Able to demonstrate acquired skills in organising and managing movement toys and games in training practice.
Competences
1.Ability to plan, manage an interdisciplinary and individualized learning process.
2.Ability to critically analyse and evaluate pedagogical techniques, tools, methods applied.
3.Ability to provide feedback on both the learner and their activities.
