About Study Course

Objective

To ensure the acquisition and improvement of theoretical knowledge and practical skills in phlebology and consultative work in the polyclinic, in accordance with the requirements of the regulations of the specialty of vascular surgery, in order to prepare the doctor for certification in the specialty of vascular surgeon, in accordance with the regulatory documents of the Republic of Latvia.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.Knows: -congenital venous anomalies, cavernous hemangiomas, A-V fistulas as the cause of venous diseases, will know the action protocol in diagnosis and treatment, -combined vein and artery pathology frequency, diagnosis, treatment tactics, - prevention of deep vein thrombosis, modern treatment methods: thrombolysis, aspiration thrombectomy, stent implantation, thromboembolism, - new generation anticoagulants in the prevention and treatment of thrombosis, -modern methods of treating leg veins.

Skills

1.Will be able to: - choose a suitable treatment method for patients with vein pathology, depending on the etiology and stage of the disease, - implement urgent, modern treatment of pulmonary artery embolism, - to apply defense of outpatient patient rights.

Competences

1.Knows and will be able to apply: -opinion, analyzing different treatment methods in the treatment of vein pathologies, - the legal aspects of the examination of the outpatient patient and the preparation of documents.
