Objective

Promote the development of the professional competence of students in the organisation and management of teaching and learning of movement toys and games, taking into account individual opportunities of learners and compliance with the learning outcomes to be achieved, as well as enable students to acquire theoretical knowledge and practical skills in modelling and regulation of variants of movement toys and games with changed regulations.

Preliminary Knowledge

Completion of the study course requires basic knowledge in sports pedagogy, sports theory and methodology, as well as in human anatomy and physiology. Understanding the specific development characteristics of children and young people and the basic principles for organising physical activity are also desirable.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.The student explains and describes the diversity of movement toys and games, the types of classification, history and development in Latvia and the world

Individual work and tests

Knowledge test on motion play and games

2.Student describes and compares Motion Toy and game teaching methodology (teaching methods, teaching aids and forms for organising sports activities).

Individual work and tests

Knowledge test on motion play and games

Skills

1.The student plans movement games and games for children of different ages by preparing a methodologically substantiated 3-play or game contour that conforms to the national pre-school education guidelines, basic and secondary education standards.

Individual work and tests

Conducting of motion plays and games

2.The student applies toy variant modelling and physical load adjustment by developing a toy or game contour and demonstrating it in practical toy management.

Individual work and tests

Conducting of motion plays and games

3.The student demonstrates the ability to organise and manage movement games and games by independently and methodically correctly managing 3 movement games or games in the practical test.

Individual work and tests

Conducting of motion plays and games

Competences

1.The student plans and implements age-appropriate and interdisciplinary movement games and games, integrating different learning areas demonstrated in the Conspectus and practical management.

Individual work and tests

Conducting of motion plays and games

2.The student critically analyses and justifies the chosen pedagogical techniques, methods and means, evaluating the organisation of games and games in the development of the prospectus and reflection of practical management.

Individual work and tests

Conducting of motion plays and games

3.The student provides reasoned feedback on the involvement of learners in play and his or her pedagogical activity by analysing the process of running the play after the practical examination.

The student develops 3-motion toy or game contours for a specific age of children. The reports shall include a full methodological description of the organisation, objectives and management of the toy.

The spectus must include the name of

  • the game or game;
  • objective and results to be achieved;
  • age group;
  • the required inventory;
  • the place where the play is organised;
  • rules and conduct of play;
  • methodological guidance;
  • load adjustment options;
  • variations of play.

Fulfillment conditions

work is credited if:

  • 3 complete accounts have been submitted;
  • the games are methodically justified and appropriate for the chosen age stage;
  • the description is structured and clear;
  • safety in play.

10 points

The student organises and conducts 2 movement games or games during the practice, demonstrating the ability to plan and implement the toy process according to the age of the children, safety requirements and methodological principles.

Fulfilment conditions:

  • prepare a short toy plan;
  • clearly explain the rules of play;
  • organise the toy process and involve participants;
  • comply with safety and methodological requirements;
  • demonstrates the ability to adjust load and adapt to the play situation.
2.

10 points

The student shall demonstrate in the test theoretical knowledge of movement toys and games, their classification, history and development in Latvia and the world, as well as methodology for teaching movement toys and games (teaching methods, means, forms of organisation of classes).

Number of questions in test -10.

The test includes different types of questions:

  • Closed questions with one correct answer - the student chooses one correct answer from the options on offer.
  • Closed questions with several correct answers – the student chooses several correct answers from the options on offer.
  • Eligibility issues – concepts, classifications or examples of play should be linked to their characteristics
