About Study Course
Objective
To enable students to acquire theoretical and practical skills in working with specialised literature in accordance with the standards of professions.
Preliminary Knowledge
Professional Communication III requires an understanding of the foundations of human functioning, pedagogy, psychology in accordance with the professions of educator, as well as an understanding of the foundations of the particular sport or professional terminology in accordance with the standard in Latvian and the foundations in English or German for the programmes of general educational schools and language knowledge acquired in the institution of higher education in accordance with the foundations of the profession in spoken language.

Prepare and present a presentation on physical activity or sport in their qualifications using professional terminology in a foreign language. The presentation is evaluated according to 5 criteria, for each criterion you can score 1-2 points: criterion 1. Talking: The student narrates the material of the presentation unforced - 2 points; the student narrates and reads the material of the presentation - 1 point criterion 2. The student’s English/German language (grammar, pronunciation, writing) is correct - 2 points; the student’s use of English/German (grammar, pronunciation, writing) contains corrections - 1 point criterion 3. Content: The student presents physical activity and sports related to the amount of content of their qualifications - speech 17-20 min. The presentation is understandably interesting, with the involvement of members of the group (questions, short quiz, etc.). The content includes the above - 2 points; there are gaps in the content - 1 point criterion 4. Visual presentation: the presentation is properly constructed (no full sentences and paragraphs, high-visibility letter size, correct background, etc.) - 2 dots. there are weaknesses in the visual presentation - 1 point criterion 5. Additional illustration: the slides are illustrated with relevant images, including a 3 min video in English/German - 2 points; slides are illusioned with only relevant images - 1 point. The points scored represent a mark in the balls (e.g. 7 points - a score of 7 points). In the introductory lesson, presentation criteria are discussed, uncertainties, if any, are pronounced. Presentation is mandatory for a successful study course (The score in the presentation must be at least 4 points). |

Performs a set of written tasks showing knowledge and skills using professional terminology in a foreign language. In the completed examination work - the examination shall be successful and shall comprise at least 55% of the correct answers. The length of the exam is planned for about 80 minutes. For a successful course, passing an exam is a must. |
