About Study Course

Objective

Demonstrate the ability to conduct a focused medical history and targeted physical examination appropriate to the patient’s chief complaint(s) and the history of the present illness(es) in internal medicine.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.The student will know: 1. symptoms of acute gastrointestinal and pulmonological, endocrinological and nephrological diseases and formulate possible differential diagnoses. 2. Name the findings of the laboratory and radiological examinations of the mentioned diseases, their significance 3. indications for a surgeon's consultation.

Skills

1.The student will be able to: 1. Interpret the symptoms and syndromes of gastroenterological, pulmonological, endocrinological and nephrological diseases. 2. Formulate indications for inpatient and outpatient treatment. 3. Draw up an examination and treatment plan. 4. Interpret laboratory and radiological findings. 5. Perform pleural puncture.

Competences

1.Prediction, identification and prevention of life-threatening conditions in gastroenterology, pulmonology, endocrinology, nephrology, etc. in the fields of internal medicine.

Emergency conditions in cases of gastrointestinal pathologies: exacerbation and complications of ulcer disease, cholecystitis, pancreatitis, gastroenteritis, gastroesophageal reflux disease, hepatitis, liver diseases, diverticulitis, exacerbation of inflammatory bowel diseases. Hereditary diseases – Hirschsprung's disease, Meckel's diverticulum, pylorostenosis. Complications of gastrointestinal and surgical procedures Complications caused by tumors.
