Knowledge
1.After completing the study course, the medical resident will know the possible causes of endocrine gland dysfunctions, mechanisms of pathogenesis, endocrine gland interactions, clinical manifestations of endocrine diseases and their differences at different ages, laboratory and visual examination methods, indications thereof and interpretation of results, primary and secondary prevention and treatment of endocrine diseases.
Skills
1.As a result of completing the study course, medical residents will be able: - to independently assess children with endocrine pathology, independently implement an examination and treatment plan, - to use the most appropriate tests for the patient in the diagnosis of endocrine diseases at different ages, - to prepare the patient for various endocrine operations, - to provide qualified emergency care to children of different ages with acute endocrine diseases or acute complications of chronic diseases.
Competences
1.By combining theoretical knowledge with practical skills, the medical resident will have the opportunity to apply them in a single integrative understanding of the ability to communicate with patients – children of different ages, their relatives, collect the necessary information – anamnesis, acquire the skills to examine endocrinological patients of different ages, get acquainted with treatment schemes, prognostic indices, learn to draw up an examination plan, prescribe a care and treatment plan, using the acquired knowledge in the differential diagnosis of children’s endocrine pathologies. To analyse and interpret diagnostic data to make a correct diagnosis. To substantiate the need for the selected diagnostic tests and the chosen treatment plan. To logically formulate and explain the treatment objectives, evaluate treatment effectiveness, side effects.

Medical residents independently get acquainted with the latest literature data, research results, prepare presentations for seminars, according to a thematic plan. To acquire theoretical knowledge and practical skills in matters of physical and sexual development of children, to learn the specifics of the development and functional maturation of the child’s endocrine system at different ages. To independently prepare the task of the clinical situation according to one of the topics of the seminars, justify the selected actions with the latest European guidelines.
