Knowledge
1.Having completed the course, students will know: • the rules of spelling and pronunciation of medical terminology in the English and Latin languages; • the Latin language grammar rules of agreement in producing anatomical terminology; • the rules of structuring and interpreting anatomical and clinical terminology in the Latin and English languages; • the rules of translating anatomical and clinical terminology in the Latin language; • students will also know medical terminology in the English and Latin languages which is most commonly used in research and vocational settings.
Skills
1.Having completed the course, students will be able to: • correctly read, interpret, write and use medical terminology in the English and Latin languages; • identify, produce, classify, and compare medical terminology in the English and Latin languages; • read, understand, and analyse field specific texts in the English language; • write summaries of research articles and presentations; • express one's ideas and put forward arguments to justify one's opinion on vocational subjects with the use of appropriate language structures in English; • give instructions to patients in need for musculoskeletal rehabilitation in English; give a presentation based on individually collected information in English.
Competences
1.Having completed the course, students will be able to correctly use anatomical and clinical terminology in the English and Latin language as well as practically apply the acquired knowledge and skills in academic, research, and vocational settings.

1) regular performance of independent tasks attached to the assessment in the e-study environment of the course or in the format specified by the lecturer, obtaining a result of at least 55% for each task; 2) use of dictionaries, supplementary literature, Internet resources and databases for deeper understanding and analysis of terms and texts, as well as performance of tasks not related to evaluation; 3) preparation and presentation of presentations on selected topics within the scope of the course topic using different sources of information: books, articles, databases, Internet resources, etc.; 4) writing of scientific articles and summaries of presentations; 5) preparation for the control/e-examination, examination of knowledge of the acquired medical terminology and practical use. In order to evaluate the quality of the study course as a whole, the student must complete the study course assessment questionnaire on the student Portal. |

|
1) the assessment criteria for independent tasks, e-test and e-examination associated with the assessment shall be determined in accordance with the methodology in the e-study environment of the course or determined by the lecturer, and the results shall be expressed as a percentage; 2) the evaluation of presentations complies with uniform criteria and results are expressed as a percentage; 3) all independent tasks attached to the assessment, the presentation shall be performed until the final e-test/e-examination; 4) upon acquiring medical terminology in Latin, the assessment is cumulative and consists of the result of the study paper – independent tasks attached to the assessment (3%) and the final e-test (97%); 5) upon learning medical terminology in English, the assessment is cumulative and consists of the result of two quiz jobs (57%), a presentation (28%) and a writing assignment (15%); 6) the assessment of the whole study course is also cumulative and consists of the result of the Latin language (33%) and the result of the English language (67%); the interest obtained shall be expressed in the balls in accordance with RSU current Studies Regulations I. |
