About Study Course

Objective

To acquire knowledge about the pharmacological groups of drugs and medicinal products, action, effects, indications and side effects thereof, to create an idea of the effectiveness and safety of drugs, as well as the skill to seek and evaluate scientifically sound information.

Preliminary Knowledge

Anatomy, physiology, biochemistry and histology, pathology.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.Basic knowledge and competence in the pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics of drugs, knowledge of drug groups and possibilities of using drugs for the prevention and treatment of diseases. Students will be able to formulate the mechanisms of action, indications and side effects of medicinal substances.

Skills

1.To know the most frequently used drugs, their administration, specifics of administration, to be able to evaluate the safety of drugs and caution.

Competences

1.As a result of completing the study course, students are able to provide information to the patient about drugs, observe the effects and possible side effects.
