Knowledge
1.Upon completion of the study course, a doctoral student will have acquired knowledge of the research aims and strategy, academic writing, structure of a doctoral thesis and expected results.
Skills
1.A doctoral student is able to carry out scientific research in the field of business administration, to define work strategy, to create the design and structure of the research, to select special literature, to collect empirical data, to develop an appropriate theory applying modern research methods, to formulate conclusions and research results.
Competences
1.Professional competence in business administration, including subject-related competence, organisational methodological competence, analytical and evaluative competence, research competence, information selection related competence.

The course envisages independent work of a doctoral student related to preparation and writing of the doctoral thesis under the guidance of his/her scientific supervisor. Upon completion of the course, a doctoral student must fulfil the following requirements: to maintain contact and work in cooperation with his/her supervisor of the doctoral thesis on the topic agreed; expand knowledge of research methods in the field of the study; identify scientific literature necessary for the doctoral thesis; create the empirical basis for the research; submit a provisional work plan to the supervisor; keep the supervisor regularly informed about the progress of the research, discuss achievements and scientific problems; regularly present chapters of the doctoral thesis to the supervisor; discuss texts of scientific publications; inform RSU Department of Doctoral Studies about the progress of the research.
The student's contribution to the improvement of the study process is the provision of meaningful feedback on the study course by filling out its evaluation questionnaire.

At the end of each academic year, the programme director evaluates academic and scientific achievements of the doctoral students and assess the work by a pass/fail.
